To accommodate the anticipated domestic travel surge beginning on April 18 and lasting through May 1, 2023, Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG)’s airlines, which include Malaysia Airlines, Firefly, and MASwings, will be allocating over 18,000 additional seats. This will help ensure that passengers are reunited with their loved ones. This is in addition to the 20,000 extra seats that were added on March 29, 2023, which are already almost entirely sold out.
In order to provide passengers with convenience during the busiest travel times, Malaysia Airlines will upgrade its services using the Airbus A330 to Kota Kinabalu on April 20, April 30, and May 1 in addition to adding an additional 54 flights to Kuching, Kota Kinabalu, Tawau, Sandakan, Kota Bahru, Alor Setar, Terengganu, Kuantan, Labuan, Bintulu, Sibu, and Miri. The fares will be dynamically adjusted lower due to the extra seats, making it more affordable for passengers to return to their homeland for the Hari Raya celebrations.
To meet the demand for travel, Firefly, a sister company of Malaysia Airlines, has doubled the number of flights it offers to Kota Bharu and Kota Kinabalu. Through the MH Horizontal Fare Family, Malaysia Airlines offers a variety of airfare options to meet the preferences and demands of its passengers. Free beverages, in-flight entertainment, snacks or meals, and a free 7kg check-in bag are all included in the Economy Lite ticket. Customers who want more convenience and flexibility during their trips can select the Economy Flex fare, which comes with a number of extra benefits like unlimited date changes, refunds, priority check-in and boarding, and a 35kg check-in baggage allowance, all of which are free of charge.
The additional flights are as follows:
Customers of Firefly can upgrade their trip by adding the value bundle services that are included with Plus, Extra, or Flex prices. These price brands provide tempting perks like 20kg of checked luggage, in-flight hot meals, 2X flight changes, priority baggage, boarding & check-in, seat selection, travel insurance, and additional cost-effective perks.
