Malaysia Airlines has launched a number of efforts to help travellers save money on flights. The national flag carrier is offering discounts of up to 20% on all domestic destinations, as well as increasing the number of flights to certain East Malaysia destinations.
To handle the domestic travel increase, Malaysia Airlines is introducing 20 additional frequencies between Kuala Lumpur and Kuching, Sandakan, Tawau, and Kota Kinabalu during the Hari Raya peak travel period from April 28 to May 8, 2022. The airline anticipates that, with almost 7,000 additional seats available, rates will be dynamically adjusted downwards, allowing passengers to take advantage of affordable pricing.
The up to 20% off promo for flight tickets will be available for booking from April 19th to April 27th, 2022, for immediate travel through July 31st, 2022. It announced that airline tickets from Kuala Lumpur to Peninsular Malaysia locations start at RM139 all-in, with flights to Kuching, Sibu, Bintulu, and Miri starting at RM209. Flights to Kota Kinabalu, Sandakan, Tawau, and Labuan, meanwhile, start at RM262 all-in.
Malaysia Airlines offers a diverse range of airfare tickets to suit the preferences and needs of its customers. Note that the cheapest Economic Lite flights no longer include free checked bags, but you do get free 7kg of hand-carry cabin baggage, complementary snacks or meals, and in-flight entertainment. Customers who want the most flexibility can choose the Economy Flex Fare, which includes unlimited date changes, refunds, priority check-in, boarding, and a 35kg check-in baggage allowance.
When students book through MHexplorer, Malaysia Airlines’ student travel programme, they can save up to 30% on tickets.
